The Green Adventure : Gamification to promote sustainability education

The Green Adventure is an interactive gamification experience in PortAventura that combines blockchain technology and sustainability. This project offers an educational gymkhana in which visitors, especially young audiences, learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by answering interactive questions. Participants accumulate points to advance, win prizes and enjoy a fun and educational experience, while blockchain technology ensures that prizes are distributed transparently and efficiently through smart contracts.

What solution is required?

Visitors access the gymkhana through a webapp. Once organized in groups, they must complete the 15 tests distributed throughout the park. Some of these tests require scanning a QR code located in a specific area of the park, while others are available for free.

Before attempting each test, participants read an explanatory text, designed to provide clear and educational information about sustainability. After the reading, the quizzes may include puzzles, multiple choice questions, picture taking, among other interactive activities.

At the end of the game, participants have the opportunity to win prizes. Halfway through the course, they are also eligible for additional prizes by spinning a roulette wheel, which randomly determines whether they get a reward.
