Proyecto CHOICE, potenciando las carreras STE(A)M
In the framework of CHOICE Project which aims to motivate more young people, and especially girls, to choose STEM careers through the creation of an innovative cross-disciplinary STE(A)M approach to education that incorporates Art, creativity and innovation into STEM subjects.
To achieve this, the project first conducted an analysis of existing initiatives, best practices and attitudes of students and educators towards STE(A)M in educational contexts producing the following results:
- National reportssummarising local and regional initiatives and best practices, as well as students’ attitudes and teachers’ approaches to STEM subjects.
- A State of the Art study serving as a comparative report summarising key findings in each implementing country, as well as a comprehensive overview of the initiatives and good practices in place in all partner countries.
- A Reflective Practice Case-study Compendium that functions as a collection of case-studies discussed during the reflective groups that were conducted in each implementing country with representatives from businesses, Higher Education Institutions and local authorities as participants.
After analyzing the results, we have come to the conclusion that there is a need to reinforce digital knowledge among teachers and begin to think about the implementation of new interdisciplinary methodologies, since for students it seems that the traditional model is unattractive. CHOICE will work in order to achive all this objectives!
