Cities and their citizens play a fundamental role in the transition toward a circular economy, and to achieve this change, they need the right tools. It is essential to offer digital solutions that connect citizens, motivate them to participate actively, and allow them to be an integral part of this circular process. They are the end consumers, and therefore, reintegrating materials and products into the circular economy cycle depends on their involvement.
The digitalization of processes and the implementation of advanced technologies that facilitate the connection between citizens, infrastructure, and public administrations is crucial. These smart platforms enable efficient management of urban resources, optimization of services, and encourage active community participation in sustainable practices.
In addition, through real-time data analysis, we provide public administrations with tools to speed up decision-making, improve urban planning, and maximize the impact of their sustainability policies. Our proposal not only optimizes urban processes but also creates a collaborative environment where all actors—from citizens to municipal managers—can effectively contribute to the shared goal of a greener and more efficient city.
How can we help?
Key Solutions for Smart Platforms for Infrastructure and Cities
Our Smart Platforms for Infrastructure and Cities solutions are designed to help public administrations and companies efficiently manage urban resources and optimize municipal services. We offer advanced tools to monitor, analyze, and improve the consumption of energy, water, and waste, promoting sustainability and improving urban quality of life. Key areas that benefit from our technology include: energy infrastructure management, sustainable urban mobility, waste management, and resource optimization.
Reciclos
What if recycling came with a reward? With RECICLOS, we’ve succeeded in rewarding the recycling of cans and beverage bottles using blockchain technology. Through an app, users scan the barcodes of containers and receive RECICLOS tokens as a reward for indicating that they’ve recycled. The app also includes a marketplace where users can redeem tokens for prize draw entries or donations to sustainable and environmental projects.
Packaging recycling objectives are increasingly ambitious, and to achieve them, it’s essential to continue promoting strategies that encourage recycling. In this context, Ecoembes (the non-profit entity in charge of packaging recycling in Spain) launched this challenge to digitize and reward recycling through an open innovation call.
Blue Room Innovation presented the first MVP of RECICLOS and developed the idea by implementing successful pilot tests in 4 municipalities. After observing improvements in recycling indicators, the project has continued to grow and now has more than half a million users committed to recycling and sustainability.
